The Love, Hope & Faith Clinic

The LOVE, HOPE & FAITH FOUNDATION was established in 2000 by concerned practitioners and members of the public who wished to contribute to caring for chronic illness sufferers and help them recover.

This foundation committed to exploring; developing and applying therapies not commonly practised and yet scientifically sound. Often these methods were not readily available to the public and were very expensive. The foundation provides all services to cancer sufferers either free or as inexpensive as can be made.

I would like to tell you of one family who inspired the establishment of this foundation. “John”, a man with a brain tumour, died before he had access to therapies which could have saved his life. “John’s” family asked those attending the funeral to use the money they would have spent on flowers to give to cancer research – this money was the first donation made to the foundation. “John’s” death has meaning.

The Love, Hope and Faith Foundation’s original concept was to be able to provide overseas product to terminally ill cancer patients who could not afford it themselves.

Due to lack of funds, the Foundation closed a few years ago, but the clinic has remained open to all in who genuinely seek advice for their own health and their loved ones.

The clinic's vision expanded to not only just focus on cancer and asthma,  but also other chronic illnesses like Alzheimer’s and Diabetes, and disabilities like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)  and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

A number of beautiful, powerful therapies such as the Buteyko breathing method, creative arts sessions, equine assisted healing sessions, healing meditation sessions, shamanic journey work, medicine wheel ceremonies & death medicine are offered and/or referred through the clinic.

This extract from the book "Astonishing the Gods" by Ben Okri, was written in 1995. (Book 3, Chap.9)

It gives us all a glimpse into our true vision is of healing centres.

He was surprised to know, in a flash, without being told, that banks were places where people deposited or withdrew thoughts of wellbeing, thoughts of wealth, thoughts of serenity. When people were ill they went to their banks. When healthy, they went to hospitals.

The hospitals were places of laughter, amusement, and recreation. They were houses of joy. The doctors and nurses were masters of the art of humour, and they all had to be artists of one kind or another.

It was a unique feature of the place, but the hospitals had their facades painted by the great masters of art. They were some of the most beautiful and harmonious buildings in the city. Merely looking at them lifted the spirits.

The masters of the land believed that sickness should be cured before it became sickness. The healthy were therefore presumed sick. Healing was always needed, and was considered a necessary part of daily life. Healing was always accompanied by the gentlest music. When healing was required the sick lingered in the presence of great paintings, and sat in wards where masterpieces of healing composition played just below the level of hearing.

Outdoor activity, sculpting, story telling, poetry and laughter were the most preferred forms of treatment. Contemplation of the sea and of the peoples origins and of their destiny was considered the greatest cure for sickness before it became sickness.

The inhabitants of that land, who were the hardest workers in the universe, were seldom ill. When they were ill at all, it was in order to regenerate their dreams and visions.

They went to the hospitals to improve their art of breathing. They went for stillness. They went to remember their beginnings and to keep in mind their ever-illusive destination. Hospitals were places where the laws of the universe were applied. Individuals, mostly healed themselves. The art of self-healing was the fourth most important aspect of their education.
